All brands and makes mentioned offer Filtertron sized PU replacements, and can be retrofitted in a Gretsch style bezel/pickup ring.

    78483DA1-80B8-45BF-B9E4-9E657AAA74AB.jpeg

    Please note:
*Different corner radius of the PU covers may require light sanding of the bezel.
*Different mounting systems may require careful planning before actual modding.
I hereby make no assumptions or unwarranted claims as to the quality of the mentioned pickups. Nor do I assume you have the skills required to pull of a pick up swap succesfully. :)

Nice! I wondered if there were more than just the first six on the list.

    Very nice!

I looked areound at SD's website ... found the Dynobuckers - which seem interesting to me, as I'd like more Twang from the 2622, who has HB-sized pickups - maybe I'll give them a try.

I seem to come across a new set every couple of months.

There’s a company called Vineham advertising on guitarscanada.com
MJS seems to have done some at one time.
I’m not sure if this guy is still making pickups, I bought a bridge from him http://www.gretsch-talk.com/threads/mo-tron-“f”-by-mojo-instruments-germany-ac-dc.150663/

A search of Reverb, J-Tron, SundayTron, DreamTron, JPG, Cardillo, Dylan, Entwhistle, PMC

WGS has Vaughn’s Holy Grail Historic V-Trons.

Tnx! Some good additions. I’m selective though. No cowboy winders that disappear ones the listing ends...
This list is a few years old, and has only 2 or 3 recent additions.
MJS is to obscure for me, the Mojo guy doesn’t sell pickups, allthough I’m sure he can wind them. I’ll add Vineham and De Lisle to the list.

Terrific list! This should be pinned somewhere safe.

I can vouch for MJS Custom Pickups. He does not offer an off-the-shelf model but is capable of custom making whatever you need. I have a set of hum cancelling 'Dynasonics' from him.

A potential add is McNelly Pickups, also in Canada. Here is their SparkleTron: https://mcnellypickups.com/collections/humbucker-pickups/products/sparkletron

    I know I’ve seen more.

For full-size there are KenTrons [Kent Armstrong]. Why does everybody do that?

Tnx! Retro is hot. Not sure about these Ken-trons. They look rather generic, like the ton of GFS, Belcat and Artec type pickups out there. 12 screw pole pieces and a shiny cover does not make a Filter.

Pete Biltoft can make most anything you want; I think most of his work IS custom work these days... IDK if he has any "off the shelf" Filtertron-sized pickups, but I know he makes them, I see them on his FB feed from time to time.

Good call. With Vintage vibe I immediately think of his CC Blade Dogears but obviously he makes other pickups as well.

A clarification, because it's not clear on the Rio Grande website: (and I need to call them to verify, because there seems to be conflicting info over a few years online)

    They have 3 versions:
Buffalo Tron - "sounds like the 50s" (so, regular I guess)
Texas - hotter (like a Powertron or P+ maybe? IDK)
BBQ - hottest; Gibson-like, for bridge

The BBQ set has the BBQ bridge and Texas neck. RG is known for hotter pickups, that's their calling card, and I have LOVED the Muy Grande bridge pickup in my tele for 25 years now.

Tnx, yes the website is not very clear. No specs at all, no dimensions. I understand they think it’s not relevant but potential customers might be scanning for particular specs.

Have you ever tried the Tesla?
If so, how they compare to blacktops or TV Jones?
