I'd also recommend a Super Reverb. It's closer in power to your AC30 with 45 watts as opposed to a Deluxe Reverb's 22, or a Twin's 85. That, and the 4X10"s sound great.

Man are you correct!! By far the sweetest thing to hit the ears. Owning a SF Twin, SF Bassman and a 65’ Super Reverb that I built, it’s just so darn fine with the 4x10’s.

Oh, all these amps sound great at low volume as well as cranked.

I can't get an overdrive pedal to sound good at low volume through my drri. Up loud its glorious and good clean. They sound fizzy with od pedals I believe it's a common complaint

Have you tried one of these? I’ve spent years looking for an overdrive pedal i like. Finally found this last year. No fizziness etc, doesn’t change your sound just drives the amp...

I believe there is a bright cap in there and that things improve drastically if you snip that cap.

Isn't it basically just a Tube Screamer type pedal?

Yes it is... Very transparent. That’s why I like it so much. so many overdrive pedals I’ve tried over the years seem to have their own sound. I love the sound I’m getting from the amp already.... just want a bit of drive to add to it...
