It’s been hard to get on YouTube this week without catching the strategic bombardment of videos all at once.

Visited a shop in person today and they had a few various finishes in stock that looked good in person. But not my favorite which is the Tele in Mercury. They did have two really sweet 70th Tele’s in stock that looked delish.

Getting back to it... Any favorites from the line?

That Jazzmaster is pretty cool,it would be even better if it had the rosewood neck with block inlays from the Parallel Universe II Jazz Strat!

I think @TSims1 needs to surprise us sometime with a NGD from the series and a review... any model, any color. :)

I haven't actually watched them, but have noticed a sudden abundance of videos pertaining to these guitars......I'm going to have to make some time and catch at least one of them.

I like a lot about the series but the narrow tall frets are a deal breaker for me. I had narrow tall on a strat and every time I slid up a string it felt like I was bumping over railroad tracks. However, bending was darn nice.

I'm always interested in a new Jazzmaster.

I like the green colour [the light blue is nice, too] and the maple board, anything but rosewood! I wish they had an ebony option. I liked those frets on a James Burton Telecaster I tried many years ago.

I'm glad that the rhythm controls are back, not too happy that the switch is used for series/parallel and it seems you can't turn the bridge pickup off in the rhythm mode.

I think the guy in the video has the function of the push-push switch wrong, I read it is a coil tap of sorts, it takes a few windings off the bridge pickup to get a vintage sound.

The neck heel, I'm never up there, and it limits your neck choices...but the Acoustasonic ebony neck might fit? [A strat neck never looks quite right on a Jazzmaster.]

I'm not sure about moving the tremolo back to the original position, I guess the new trem sits deeper, I don't think it was an issue with heavier strings. I would never dive-bomb, and the guy in the video can't seem to use it subtly at all. I imagine the original tremolo slots in there ok.

Will these replace the Pro line in the Mod Shop?

I’m not sure as I’m not as up to speed on Fender. I think they dropped the first American Professional 8 months or so ago. Did they offer the Pro Line in the Mod Shop while they had the first series out?

A lot of newer production neck have 5 screw holes to accommodate both heel styles.

That's the Jazzmaster that has been in the Mod Shop since it started a couple of years ago.

I was just looking again and I don't think they moved the tremolo back, I think it's the same as on the Pro.

But something is different...what is it? The horn is half a fret longer, maybe? What else? It may just be camera angles.

I haven’t watched this in full yet but I think they’ve tweaked it a bit.

That's a nice video. There's a tweak to the position of the screws to get them in-between the strings and the pivot is changed to a hinge.

1961 Pancake seems to be a specific vintage guitar.
