"My lips hurt real bad..." Love that film!
Another one of my favs!!!!
Another great movie and one of my favs
If you like that check out "Gentleman Broncos"
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. All time favorite: Stanley Kramer’s only comedy that he directed. Released in 1963. I can’t think of another movie that had as many big time comedic stars as this one. Look up the cast. Truly amazing. Shot in Ultra Panavision 70. Shown at Cinerama theaters, it was an incredible visual experience.
I saw it as a 6 year old in the brand new Cooper theater in Minneapolis, MN ( St.Louis Park to be exact). I still remember going to the concession stand and being shocked when the wanted 25 cents for a candy bar. Candy bars were 5 cents everywhere else. Beautiful theater with a huge curving screen (35’ high and 105’ wide) and amazing sound system. Such a futuristic looking theater. It really made an impression on a little kid from a small southern Minnesota farming community. Great memories. The Cooper was tore down in the early 90’s I beleive.
See No Evil, Hear No Evil
40 Year Old Virgin
Monte Carlo Or Bust
Every Laurel And Hardy, 'Carry On', Three Stooges and Pink Panther (including the Steve Martin ones)...
There are a helluva lot from different eras that make me laugh for different reasons.
Groundhog Day isn't one of them, however... didn't even realise it was supposed to be a comedy.
Blazing Saddles hands down. Since seeing it in the theater some 45 years ago, it has been my favorite movie. There may be a dozen or more that tie for 2nd, but no others compete for 1st in my mind.
how could i forget gentleman broncos! good one!
RIP Cooper Theater. There’s a whole shopping and dining complex called the West End built where it was. I grew up in St Paul but saw a few movies at th Cooper.
I witnessed a change of humour with me during the years.
There are films that I found totally funny two decads ago (like the Naked Gun and its sequels)that I cannot laugh at anymore. I try to think about a film that made me laugh lately... Nothing comes to mind to be honest.
The big Lebowski makes me smile, still.
Dumb and Dumber

Most of my favs already listed ... Airplane, Animal House, Dr Strangelove, Holy Grail ... but I'll add an "oldie but goodie" to the list:
Some Like It Hot
40+ years old and still hilarious ever time I watch it. You got the great Jack Lemmon, a ravishing Marilyn, Tony Curtis at his best and the unforgettable Joe E Brown:
"Well, nobody's perfect!"
Highroller, Some Like It Hot is a great comedy. It’s on our must watch once a year list.
What About Bob
So I Married an Axe Murderer
Drop Dead Fred
I saw that one and "How the West was Won" there. There is a train derailment scene in HTWWW that I was positive that I was about to be crushed by a boxcar.
Oh, I could go on...
The Black Bird.
All things Python.
The Appointments of Dennis Jennings. (Steven Wright Oscar winner!). On youtube !
The two Gary Larson Tales From the Far Side half hour animated specials, also on youtube ....
Anyone catch that spinal tap went to "11" ? It's one better right
