Network Tv comedy doesnt work for me much. Cable shows have a bit more depth I think. I was loving LILYHAMMER for two seasons worth of bing watching on Netflix then ..nada. I feel empty :)

So I'm watching Crackle's "Comedians in cars getting coffee" with Jerry Seinfield. I've always liked Jerry. Saw him back in the pre tv show days as a mullet wearing comedian in the Gym of UC Irvine. :)

Mash was always a favorite. Also Seinfeld. A few others mentioned like corner gas and trailer park boys. One I haven't seen mentioned is WKRP in Cincinnati, and one if my all time favorites, Taxi. Oh yeah, and Soap.

I'd forgotten about Soap. While at High School we were set an assignment to watch Soap and write an essay. Most enjoyable homework I ever got.

Eh, Not really a comedy show, but a sportscar/car presentation show that's presented comedically, is TopGear UK.

But I also really liked Family guy before it got super drawn out. That happened with the Simpsons too after about 12 seasons or so. The movie kinda brought it back to life for a little while.

I really really like Louie on FX. That's probably my favorite now that I think about it.

  13. Like some here, I kicked Satellite and cable out of my house years ago. So it has been the occasional Netflix or Hulu. Never cared for most of the major networks series. With some of the exceptions mentioned here, soap, taxi, cheers. But the few shows that ever really made me laugh out loud, which rarely happens, were British. Fawlty towers , Python, and the young ones, and more recently little Britin. For some reason they can push my
Buttons alot easier than American comedy.

What is cool about TPB is how the characters seem so happy, with so little...

Ray, for instance, was living in a trash dump, and even though he was embarrassed about it, he was still grateful and still enjoyed himself. The other thing, is how much the characters seem to genuinely care about one another - they have their own little "tribe" in the park. It's a great show - but after Mike Clattenburg left, the series didn't seem the same... The new releases of the series on Netflix are just not as good, IMO.

"Workaholics" is pretty funny, again, it is sophomoric, juvenile humor... right up my alley...

The Mary Tyler Moore Show was a good one, too.

The first season of Mork and Mindy was a riot. Then, they started trying to make a point as opposed to being funny, and it went right downhill.
