I don’t care for the Setzers and I tried em a few times. If your guitar sounds good to you now, I’d just be happy with it. :)

I liked the neck Setzer but not the bridge pup, swapped them out for good'ol classics.

I'm no real expert on 'Trons, but it seems to me the 'tron signature is "compressed, round, punchy." Not convinced another brand will be that much different.

Looks like we all have our own take on what that classic Gretsch sound is, but in the end we're all happy. Might just stick to the HS Filtertrons and experiment with an EQ pedal if I need to dial in slightly different Gretsch tones.

I had the "twin" to your Falcon for about 10 years. The HS Filters sounded great.

The TV Classics that I installed sounded great.

Also have a RI -58 Gent. The stock HS Filters sounded great.

The TV RB's that I installed sound great. Actually they are special.

If you like a fatter more PAF tone, this ain't it.

If you're after that Tele bite, RB's in an Electrotone body sure make my ears smile.

All this said, I found that brighter amps with HS Filters are a good pairing.

Classics work well with about anything.

Bottom line is what you're hearing. Can't go wrong with a Filtertron.

Best single coil bucker on the planet! Lol

Uh Oh you've brought pedals into it!!!

One pedal you got to own is some type of Nocturne Brain, it's a pre-amp that brings out the best of whatever pickups you play through it but IMO this pedal was made for filtertrons.

    Awesome pedal!!

Yeah, any kind of boost/preamp/drive pedal can work miracles for Filtertrons.

I absolutely second this. I own a nocturne brain and it is truly remarkable what it does for filtertrons. The HS filtertrons really are wonderful pickups but this pedal will bring out the very best in them.
