It's a fairly dark olive drab in most light. Certain angles make the specular reflections take it more grey.

Not to hijack the thread, but my good friend just picked this up and absolutely loves it. It's a 2014 es Florentine made only for one year. To my eye, it's technically not a Florentine, but whatever.

Very nice. I agree the name is stupid and confusing. It’s a reissue of the very limited Epiphone Les Paul Elite(not to be confused with the Japan made Epis) in and around ‘99.

Nice Axe Sid! I've heard nothing but good things about those epi dogear p90s. I know what you mean about the bridge. I got an Epi ES 339 a few years back and found out Gotoh makes a drop in replacement, # 103B-T I think. For $30 or so they're solid. Enjoy rocking those p90s!

    WooHoo, Congrats!!!
Heard nothing but good things about this new worn model. Price point is pretty killer too.

I'm still waiting on Guitar Center to fulfill an order I placed back in December:rolleyes:

I think the fretboard is laurel versus rosewood but not sure it matters. Also the neck is 1.69" at the nut and is a C Shape. I think the depth at the first fret is the same as the new Riviera's at .89" which is more beef than the older exiting Casino's. The neck should feel quite a bit fuller which works for me.

Yeah, fretboard is Indian Laurel on this one. Looks like the standard Casino is Pau Ferro. Aesthetically the Indian Laurel actually seems like one of the better alternatives when it comes to looking like what my brain picks up as rosewood & feel is pretty good to me.

Other spec differences on the standard 2020 Casino that I just noticed are it has basswood bracing rather than the Spruce of the Worn, they list it as a slim taper D neck profile vs. the '60s C on the Worn, & it has P90 Classics vs the P90 Pros on the Worn.

Epiphone makes great guitars. I have and would gig one in a heartbeat. Casino’s are particularly cool, as @Tony65x55 said. You should ALWAYS listen to a Tony. ;)

I suspect the price drops in matte & "satin" finish guitars (all of 'em), is, as mentioned above, several less stages in hand finishing, polishing, with several coats in between, etc. Times both time & labor = money. At least they have the decency to pass on the savings, right?

I've had a '62 Gibson 330 (dressed-up version of a Casino) since about 1975. At the time, there weren't "vintage" guitars, per se, they were just older and "seasoned." I did do a few mods, based largely on Gretsch features, adding a master volume and standby switch (both of which I LOVE and use constantly), a phase reverse, moved output to the side, upgraded the tuners and added a Gibson Maestro Vibrato. ALL Gibson parts, so it completely has the look & quality of a Gibson Custom Shop instrument. (Added a baby photo below.)

I mention it to say, DON'T change the P-90s in your Casino. I actually don't know if 2020s are any different than vintage, but this guitar is as sweet to play and HEAR as any. Let it grow on you... it will.

Congrats Sid, on your beautiful "new toy!" Woo-woo! DSC_0031 MOLLYS-BVC 0308 CROP 2 GUITAR ONLY.JPG
