Does anybody ever use the Bigsby protective tip?

The loosey black one came with the G6659 I received last week. While I haven't yet removed it, it will be the first (and maybe only) "mod" I do to this fine instrument (tension Bigbsy haters I hear you, I just don't use that enough to worry about it).

I put 2 in the case when I opened the case for the first time, the other 2? I threw them across the river. I don't live near a river anymore! NO Reason for them once you have possession.. BUT Maybe if you gig and travel a lot? I dunno, but NO!

Synchro,

I'm sure I saw a note in the ''Desperately Needed'' section:

''Wanted'' Plastic tip for Bigsby arm, black or clear, willing to pay $1000.

If I'm lying, may the Burns trem on my Malcolm Young ''Salute'' Jet become functional!

BIB.

Tell us more about the Jet. I like that.
Well ...... I was in the market for a Jet and one day at work I was scrolling Guitar Centers used site . I saw it and that Tiger Flame really attracted me ( the back and sides are black ) So right after work I took that 20 minute drive , tried it , played it , bought it . Forum member @YaDaddy loved it and checked into it for me . He was nice enough to call FMIC Customer service and based on the serial number it was a FSR but not sure which one , Guitar Center Musicians Friend . Don't worry @YaDaddy , you'll be the first to know ;)

My hands sweat a lot. I've always had problems keeping a grip. ;) I leave mine on to help with that. I don't like the look of the black rubber, the clear plastic is less noticeable. When I can afford it I will change over as many as possible to the Duane Eddy arm which feels a lot better to me.

Yep it's a G5436T from an FSR run for GC or Musician's Friend.

Thanks @thunder58 Just call me ready Freddy. ;)

I look at those pics of yours every week.

I leave them on and for some guitars it’s part of the look. My G5435TG LTD doesn’t look right without the contrast of the black rubber tip on the Bigsby arm. I could use some more black ones, actually. I haven’t looked on the web in a while, but the last time I did I couldn’t find any of the short 2 inch ones.
Anybody know a source or have a bunch in a drawer that they would sell me?

if it's not glued or screwed and it's plastic then it's removed or destined to be. leo fender made the mistake once. i'm sure the guy that assured him wasn't around for the stratocaster, "leo bub, it'll be fine, we'll slide it on and it'll stay put, trust me, that 1/8" straight as a razor edge tip will hold it like hide glue. i think. almost positive. pretty sure. of course, i've never done this before. what could go wrong?"

I just let my only one stay... It isn't black and spoils the look, it is transparent
I hardly use the arm, it's not in the way... I don't care I guess...
So it stays
