I played my Firebird 70's Studio Tribute for most of the gig this afternoon, and fell in love with it all over again. It sounded great with the mini hums, although I had to crank down the highs a bit on the bridge pickup. I did use my Gretsch Annie too for the first set. It was an outside gig and very humid, so tuning was a constant issue on both guitars.

I think I need a spare Firebird. GAS attack! The photo is generic. I had metal pickup rings installed on mine to make it a bit more authentic.

Me too Calvin, got a Tokai one, I'm selling & saving for a Gibson. Those sweet cleans and singing dirt tones...

Man, we are on the same wavelength today! I love mine too! Have an EE that I just got that I am digging as well.

Those tribute guitars were fantastic - at any price!

Never had a Firebird — the nearest I got was an RD Artist with a huge Moog PCB buried in the back amidst a rat's nest of wires. A while back I went to a gig by one of my brother-in-law's bands and found this '70s Firebird resting in the band room — a bound body and full-sized humbuckers which I was told were stock. Never seen another one like it.

I had a Tokai one, but I keep thinking of trading something to get a Gibson with the vibrola. I used a T-bird bass for ages in a band too.....cool guitars.

I may be a weirdo, but I don't like the regular "reverse" Firebirds. But, I LOVE the non-reverse models from 1965 on.

aargh guys, your making me want another.. I had a 76 bicentennial back in 1984 and had to sell due to running up some debt.. it was mint and let it go for £600 back in the day. Its the only guitar i've regretted selling. The guy who took it off me had a good collection and an original 63 with a Gibson authenticity afidavit, this was his pride and joy and placed it cased under the bed, when I sold it my 76 was placed under the bed on top of the other and that was the last i saw of it. I've often wondered whether he still has them and would go back and make a sensible offer for my old friend

I always think in terms of a Gretsch Jet Firebird.... mid to late 1950's versions. Personally, I have never liked these Gibson creatures. Just me, I
