I get it on every page. I'm gone till it's gone. But I'll have to check back to see if it's gone, so I'm not gone gone.

I have used several popup blockers in the past years(including Ghostery) and I still get them, intermittently but still...

I’ve been using it on my iPhone for over a year now... pretty much just for this site as we had all this stuff going on before.
I get no problems at all now.,

I'm not too tech savvy. Maybe someone who is can explain why I, who have no popup blockers installed, don't get popups here at G-T while others do, whereas I do get them at some other websites.

My underlying reluctance to install a popup blocker is my understanding that they render you somehow invisible to the site, and therefore your clicks do not help G-T with their advertisers. Which advertisers are, of course, what keep the site free to us. Which we all wholeheartedly endorse, I am sure!

I was getting it all day yesterday. Not just every visit but every time I changed pages.
So far I’ve not had it yet today.

Ghostery is not an ad and pop up blocker. It’s a browser which blocks ads and pop ups. Install Ghostery, open it and search for the Gretsch-Talk URL. It’s my new default browser for iPhone after @audept and @Trash Kidd pointed me towards it.
I’m sorry if ad blocking as an effect on revenue for the forum, but I would gladly pay for an ad and issue free Gretsch-Talk.

It is a limited data set, but it appears that this is occurring for members in the EU. Anyone from other parts of the world seeing this? FWIW, I don't see it using Safari from the US.

Having encountered the issue on my Ubuntu box with Chrome, Chromium and Firefox and on my Mac with Chrome I fired up Safari (on the Mac) which I practically never use and lo and behold there were no pop-ups!.....until I logged in and then they sprung up exactly as with every browser on all my computers.

Just installed Ghostery and that hasn't helped.

Edit: Now Ghostery does appear to work but logging out is still the only solution with Chrome

Another **** edit: Now logging out doesn't work with Chrome either.

... every time I visit, every time I refresh, but only on this site, so I conclude the problem is in ... this site.

Once I started writing this, it ended.

Hm ... where's it from? Will it end? Doen't look trustworthy, not like the usual cookie message I get here (after deleting old cookies, then not again).

    Anyway, it is a PITA.

I think that you are right DennisC : the G-T is a non-secured site (non-https), so it's certainly a malware affecting the website or its platform.

    @Synchro & @thunder58, moderators : is there something doable to cure this ? o_O
