I’m with @Trash Kidd, the Tone Master Deluxe is pretty freakin’ awesome.
Mine takes pedals really well, it gives me bedroom level volume with the wattage down to 0.2, but I can still switch it to 22 watts and crank it full power when I wanna get my ya ya’s out!
I’ve been using mine all of the time!

You may change your mind, if you hear it with a 12" Celestion Blue. A lot more muscle than the 10" speaker version.

Then there is the Fender GTX 100 and the GTX 50 as well. The few videos I've seen on youtube have me wanting to play one in person whenever that becomes possible.

I would consider the Tone Master. Imo, quiet / bedroom volume is different for everyone, I would post the decibels you are willing to live with.

Also, IMO, there is not really anything in your price range that is both tube and will sound good (or at its best) at talking/conversation volume. I would look at solid state alternatives like the Tone Master, Quilter, etc.

According to the app I just tried, the max I played just now was about 75 decibels, or about the level of a vacuum cleaner.

If you find that you are boosting the midrange on the Deluxe model in that Mustang, I would suggest that you look into the Blues Jr. the Princeton is a great amp, but a Blackface Princeton is probably not going to have a lot of midrange.

I know RJ Ronquillo makes everything sound good, but I was impressed by this Quilter 101 (especially when he switches to the P90 guitar toward the end):

Thanks, that was what I was thinking. My only concern I guess is volume.

This is going to be tough to decide. I appreciate everyone giving out helpful suggestions!

I did like the clean tones I was hearing here, especially with the midrange up (starting at 2:23).

That does sound nice. But, I prefer to have 3 band EQ if possible, or at least two :)

I’m gonna stick my oar in and suggest the Bassbreaker 007. Best version is the head with matching 12” cab. No reverb though.

Anyone have experience with the Egnater Tweaker 15-watt head or combo? Seems pretty cool!

You know, I was thinking, part of that might just be the fact that I have a Mustang I with an 8 inch speaker. Maybe with a 12" speaker I wouldn't feel the need to mid boost so much...

I'm strongly considering it, just because of that handy power reduction thing allowing it to sound good at about any volume.

I have a (non-guitar related) collectable for sale now, which I expect to sell for anywhere from 800-1300, so we'll see how that goes! If it sells for less than I'm hoping for, I'll probably go with the Super Champ X2.

Why not go with the classic blackface iteration, the amp that earned the Princeton Reverb its reputation?
