I posted this challenge on other message boards, but I would dig hearing some of that great Gretsch tone played over this.

My goal here was to create a simple backing track that was minor & major key neutral. Any scale minor, major, pentatonic, or whatever in a given key would work with it. This is mostly for learning the fretboard, scales, triads, chord tones and such. Be that as it may, here's my attempt at a backing track in "A" that appears to meet my goal. Feel free to comment, play over it or go get a cheeseburger:
    Smooth Underground Chill

Tips: Download the track to your computer, there is a download link. Place the file in your DAW or just play it through your computer, record your jam session and post it on the internet location of your choice.

    Enjoy!

Hey,,big thanks..i wanted to try my new LP before i took it to a job later this week
Peavey Ultra ..oddly played the lead first on the neck pup SD 59
then added 2nd track flipped to bridge & use SD jb4

had a lot of fun..will look for more to do..sometimes..just do that 1 take as you feel the music.. felt this track..good job man !Here is my rig i used..that is a MXL Ribb0n r144 on a celestion V30 into a GAP 73 iii preamp..no mixing just as is..ran 59 panned at 50% & jb4 at 25 to allow your backer to run down the middle

Sounded great! Lots of gritty crunchy goodness. Great classic rock tones and outstanding mix.

Thanks for the kinds words and for taking the time to riff over the track.

Cool..to me this is what it's all about...making music..helping each other...there is no right or wrong...better genre..better anything...music comes from within..thanks for the kind words !! keep making those.. what nice structure & sounds you have going on. noticed some more subtleties as i went back and listened..was so cool to wake up & have a track to work my guitar in as i was choosing for next song to record..

    Here's my take:

Record levels are a bit low. It was recorded live through a mic'd amp.
