Are they making a mockery of the U.S. Anthem, or what?

Yeah, I guess, considering how the vast majority of Americans don't even see anything weird about drugging* children of all ages to make them compliable enough for boring 'teachers' and classes, Aguilara's 'performance' (with the backing of the people who put her there) was just more of the status quo.

Yeah, that sure makes sense. I 'get it' now.

    Thanks, ;)

    * Oh I'm sorry, was I supposed to pretend we're 'medicating' the children? - Oops!

But they're still drugging millions of children daily, aren't they? - Well, aren't they? 'Not to mention' the zillions of adults, too, of course, but even children?

And when are the troops coming home?

Did they ever find those weapons of mass-destruction?

And just what, exactly, made 'Building Seven' go down on its 'footprint' - when it wasn't even hit?

Oh I know, I should just shut-up, crack open a brew, and watch Conan. LOL!

How about they just play Jimi's version at all events, everywhere, every time. A great rendition and nobody would have to worry about botched words.....

If they would just sing it straight, they would probably remember the lyrics!

If you make your living as a singer, you should at least make enough effort to know the words to the song. There are loads of talented singers and musicians out there who will never make even a fraction of the money this nitwit rakes in.....why reward careless mediocrity?

solemn occasion? the superbowl? it's kind of an affront to patriotism to even sing the national anthem at that sideshow, isn't it?

It seems to me that what quite a few of the posters in this Thread (far too many, I think) still don't 'get,' is that 'the problem' was not at all just Aguilara's 'performance.'

The Real Problem is the sum total of the defunct 'Systems' that put her there!!!

That's the 'Problem'!! - And a general failure to recognize the Source of the Problem, i.e., ourselves, is a major, if not THE major, part of the Source of that 'Problem'!

    That's my view.

and i still submit that making such a huge deal out of a freaking football game is a symptom of all that truly ails this once great nation...

Hi bonefish,, I'm sure not making any kind of a deal out of a 'football game,' so if you're responding to me, it seems you didn't understand my point.

Here's an example of what I think is the kind of symptom of all that truly ails this once great nation...

    PEACE!
