Glad it has worked out.

I don't own a Gibson but have in the past.
I must admit I bristle at unfounded sledges leveled at a great American Company which has done nothing but produce fantastic
instruments and set the stage for much of the music we love.

Apologies if my response offended.

I’m happy it all worked out for you. A couple of years ago I bought a very gently used 2012 LP Special and I love it. The P90s are great. I did replace the nut because someone had cut the slots WAY too deep. After that I dare say the guitar is perfect. Hope you enjoy your Special.

I'm glad you got it sorted. Gibson takes a lot of crap for a sustained period of QC issues, and as posts in your other thread demonstrate, there are some people who jump at any chance to say they are terrible guitars without recognizing how they have improved over the last several years. It's the 'confirmation bias'--they see one newer Gibson with issues and it's 'nope, they still suck!'

I own six Gibsons from 2016 on and can say that none of them has a build issue. All of them setup and play beautifully. I have 2 2018 SG Specials, which are bare-bones in terms of finish and polish, and were designed and sold that way. One of them is more refined than the other, but the 'bad' one is perfectly up to snuff as far as the model should have been coming off the line--it's just a noticeable differnce in hand made and finished instruments. It's also my number 1 of the 2.

I bought a new non- weight relieved 2013 LP Traditional Light Burst for $2249 seven years ago.
In every measure- build quality and execution, playability, finish, tone- it is a stellar guitar.
It weighs 10.8 lbs, has the hefty 50’s neck carve, and a ‘57 plus in the bridge. It is very close to the original 50’s LP’s in feel, look, and sound. I think it is a great guitar at a fair price. 59A880EF-FFF8-4418-A48C-5140188B8F36.jpeg

Wonderful news all around, Radd, and congratulations on an outstanding guitar, a true favorite of mine.

years ago I bought a black Gibson slab LP, I believe aMelody Maker, w/p-100’s I soon replaced with P-90’s. Loved the sound of those growlers.

The guitar is great, but I think it is going back. It has the 50’s chunky neck. Of course I can play it and I like the guitar so much I was almost going to over look that neck. Then, I picked up my ProLine Jet, I’m just more comfortable with the thinner neck. I do hate to give up those P90’s. :(

I didn't buy one of those because of the neck profile. I'm a 60s slim taper guy. Maybe some day they'll put out a TV yellow with a thinner neck.

Until then I'll make do with this guy.

I bought a perfect gibson goldtop 50's style japanese clone les paul, because gibson only makes good acoustic guitars now. IMO Gibson needs to go visit Tokai's Japan-Gakki factory and they can teach gibson how to do it like they used to. I'm tired of buying modern gibson electrics that sound like tubs that cannot be fixed w better pickups. Ive been burned w an ES-295 custom shop and w an ES-135, too much money for very unimpressive quality.
Thats my story at present and I'm stickin to it, dont call me a gibson hater cuz I have 3 gibson EH-185 amps from '39-'42, 1 gibson 1956 ES-150 electric and 1 gibson SJ-100xtra from 00'

I’d love a 135/175 etc but prefer a 25.5 scale. I had three Lesters once. A black custom and two stunning flametops from early 00’s, could not fault them but I found the more i ate the snaller they got, now my falcon is starting to look shrunken. :(
