As a horn player I love me some Tower of Power. I found this gem the other day and, being a new guitar student, was blown away by Bill Conte's guitar work. Nary a Gretsch in sight (afaik) though.

Yes I do, we had a Funk band in college, and loved the music, the people, and the fans were loyal.

Love funk! So much great new funk out there. Huge fan of Vulfpeck and Fearless Flyers. Cory Wong is an amazing funk rhythm player.

Henry is right on! Vulf and all the off-shoot bands are insanely good.

I’d also suggest Little Feat. They were one of those bands that defied a category, but they were incredibly funky and Lowell George was one of the best slide players ever.

I love old ‘70s funk(Parliament et all) Wish I could play though.
Henry has made several attempts to hip me to Vulfpeck, but I’m not sure yet lol.

I love when funk is injected into some good old rock like in Mother`s Finest. That`s super cool music to me.

I'm a huge fan of funk. Sly and the Family Stone turned me on to funk, along with Bootsy's Rubber Band. The Average White Band was the best Scottish funk!

Hey Nick, I did a gig at Tipitina's with George Thorogood in 1989. The dressing room posters were from my favorite band - The Meters. Later in Australia I toured with The Neville Brothers. Great music!

Yep I love funk. We play Cissy strut with my band. In the 80’s I was in Nola with my father for jazz fest, we lived in Chicago at the time. There was a tent show with Santana and we went to buy tickets but it was sold out. They were setting up gear and they let us watch. Turned out it was for Santana and we got to watch a two hour sound check in private. Then the Neville brothers casein to sound check and they through us out. Lol.
that weekend Santana also played the main stage and I saw him and got an autograph. It was funny because while he was playing buddy guy sat at the side of the stage watching everything he did. When buddy and Junior Wells did their set Santana sat at the side of the stage watching everyone they did . It was great to see all these talented people excited to watch each other just like I was excited to see them
