Not me. I can't help nibbling at the edges. Just about once every two weeks or so. Middle fingertip especially.

For being dead skin, calluses certainly seem to have a "life cycle." I have used scissors to trim the rough edges, but more often than not, I nibble.

I use a micro plane and then some sandpaper.

I don't have any callouses to speak of, except on my fretting hand pinky, and my theory is that's because it's usually playing a plain .013 or .017, and theres no windings to help abrade the buildup. My other fingers are not baby skin, but there's nothing there that resembles leather, and I believe, truly, that it's due to using large fret wire.

Less pressure required to make contact with the fret crown, even with heavy strings and high action.

    Regards,
    Howard Emerson

I started in again on mine this week because the person who usually does it for me is on holiday.

I wish I had callouses on my fingertips...
(For playing my guitar and not for biting them.)

There's a mental picture that I can never get rid of.

I try not to. I have a metal sanding tool made just for callouses that works well...when I remember to use it!

Strangely, I don’t have callouses. I’ve been playing for 55 years and had callouses the first few years, but I haven’t had visible callouses in many years. For whatever the reason, my fingertips are very soft, but I believe that there is less feeling where they contact the strings.

No, but I'm building guitar kits...(?)
Seriously, tho I do "start" them, go off working on the kits and lose 'em a bit...
