His guitar tech talks about dialing in the amps etc. It's interesting how meticulous they are about it. And they use reissues on tour. The museum piece heads live in the studio.

He says, "with Angus, there are no pedals to hide something that's not right".

    I had no idea:

I think it was out some time ago, that was one of the most enlightening videos on guitar amps I saw. Amazing.

That's interesting as I thought both the youngs used Wizard amps too.
    Cool video.

Just 2 throw a little curve ball into the thread, Angus has been using the Schaffer Vega diversity system Wireless since the late 70s, and even uses it in the studio to record. Basically due to the sophisticated preamp that was built into the wireless system. Given that, theoretically he does use one pedal, not dissimilar to those who use only the Nocturne brain preamp pedal. You can now buy the same preamp in a pedal form from Solo Dallas .

Beat me to it! Still it's refreshing he doesn't use anything else though.

Kenny Schaffer and I worked in the same office in the 70s. I was fortunate to be around when they were carving up the back of Angus's SG to install the transmitter into the wood.

Funny, I just watched this myself today. Really cool stuff. My tinnitus got a little worse just looking at that wall of cabs...

Well it'll be hard to dial the sound in yourself without pedals, since they don't dial in there amps but over dial them, to the point where they blow them. He also says there is an amp tech constantly rebuilding amps on tours.
Cool video tho, watched it a couple of times, really like hearing guitar techs talk about rigs.

But in the video, it wasn't a pedal?

Isn't the parametric EQ to dial out room feedback?

Yes, it’s only used for the rehearsal room... but it was funny to point it out. In my head anyway. :)

Oh ok cool, I do think it's good to see that the big name guys are willing to run reissues of the older models, it must show that some companies get it right when it comes to recreating popular past models.

I'll probably get shot down for saying it, but anyone else find it a bit ridiculous lugging that many of the same/similar amp & cab around the world, particularly when only 2 of them are mic'd up? Rock indulgence I guess.
