Sorry to report the passing of Gang of Four guitarist Andy Gill.

I loved Andy's jagged, percussive and massively noisy playing. I remember seeing Gang of Four way back in the day, along with a virtually unknown opening act - REM. Blew me away then, still does now. Whenever I just wanna rip loud and loaded with feedback, To Hell With Poverty is one of my favorite numbers to play.

He was only 64. That's two years older than me. Makes you think...

RIP Mr. Gill, you'll be missed.

SAD news I saw Gang of four a few years back with the original singer in Sydney at the Gaelic Club.Always a fan of his guitar playing since the early eighties

RIP ... too bad I never saw GO4 live.

And 64 is definitely too young to die.

Sad news. Happy memories of seeing them in their early days around Sheffield and Leeds . Nobody sounded like go4.

Although I've never heard of him or the band , it's always said when we lose someone we admired musically
