From the first time I heard Chet Atkins play on one of those old TV shows I wanted to own a Gretsch guitar.
I wanted to learn to play like Chet. That was many years ago, many years. Well folks, I finally got one for my 75th birthday. I even found the book "Learn to play like Chet Adkins. That was 6 years ago and I still can't get the hang of using all my fingers, but I love my orange 5420. Now I'm trying to sell my 1986 Ovation full body Elite. sold my 12 string Yamaha 2 years ago but I still have 4 guitars.

Welcome. Your 5420 is a great guitar. My Aspen Green one was my first Gretsch and I'll never part with it.

Welcome to the madhouse grouchie 1. Yep, Chet was certainly an inspiration for a lot of us "oldies"on here and like you, most of us can only aspire to his musicianship. So glad you were able to find your dream guitar. Enjoy the ride!
