Thought this pic might help folks to know what they have. These are two Gretsch Filtertrons, Alnico front, ceramic back, you should be able to see the difference in the shape of the screw heads. 20211015_153742.jpg

Nice shot of the pickups, and thanks for pointing out the difference, wildeman. Looks like my Tennie has the ceramic H.S. Filtertrons. Maybe that's why someone gave up on it, and I got a nice used Tennie that I love.

The bridge pickup is the back. It makes sense is the guitar is a quadruped and the back is farther from its head and close to its tail. If the guitar were a biped, people would say the bridge pickup is the bottom. That's how we know that guitars have four legs.

“And that’s how we know the world to be banana-shaped”, I’ll add. :p
  7. The one closest to the bridge. Assuming you have more than one pickup.

All my guitars are quadriplegic. Maybe it's my genes?

I have that same problem when someone says, "Top or bottom?" when asking which piece of chicken you want.

I think (wild guess really) that the ceramic pickups were used in '89/'90 6129 Jets. Either way, the sound was killer but forget much about the thread of the specific guitar I was thinking of as it was well over a year ago in another forum.

“Front and back pickups” certainly sounds more dignified.
