That's actually one of the earliest JV factory prototypes, as evidenced by the incomplete serial number. Also, I don't doubt the authenticity of the signatures-- that guitar belonged to Sean Chambers, who is fairly well known in blues circles. The neck pickup is a modification-- the original has only a Fishman pickup built into the bridge.

Yup, presented to him by Gretsch, which I would guess was Joe doing the presenting

I came darn close. I’ve bought and sold a number of guitars the last 6 months with a specific goal of how many guitars I will reduce down to and what they will be. I have one spot to left to fill and it’s not a vintage guitar I’m looking for.....

Someone here needs to buy it.

That's a beauty! It's only 12 years old, so I wouldn't call it vintage. Still, it's a most desirable guitar---and, as we all know, everything sounds better with Cat's eyes!

It does make me wonder why Sean Chambers would get rid of a signed presentation guitar.

Acoustically, does it sound like a "traditional," round sound hole, acoustic flat top in the Martin dreadnought or Gibson jumbo vein, or does it deliver that characteristically "jazz" tone that archtops are expected to?

No flattop tone at all, its a true archtops, all barky and mid-rangey. Killer guitars for sure
