So, a little back story on this one. I started playing guitar at 15. My first guitar was an Aria Pro II Strat and as time passed, I became a more proficient player. It was at this point I wanted to upgrade my guitar. Now, my father always played a Gibson ES-125, and my brother played a small orchestra of guitars highlighted by an old 53’ Gretsch Broadcaster. Needless to say, the hollow body guitar sound was a strong influence on me growing up, and there was always something about my brothers Gretsch that just said...the dude that plays this guitar is one cool cat! From there I was always drawn to Gretsch guitars, but the price of the really nice ones kept them out of reach. Since my interest was peaked way back with Gretsch guitars, there was always one model that set itself apart from the others to me, and has been number one on the list for me for a long while. The White Falcon! In all of its oversized and gaudy glory, that was my dream guitar! Finally, on Tuesday of this week the FedEx truck pulled up and delivered a dream. I was finally able to purchase a brand new White Falcon! I opted for the double cut center block version as it has a slightly slimmer body, and the center block cuts down on feedback. I truly love this guitar and all the wonderful sounds I can get out of it. Everything from rock to punk, to country, to alternative are at my fingertips with this beautiful guitar! I just wanted to share this with the forum, and say that Gretsch is such an amazing brand with a great history and iconic look. If you’re on the fence about buying one, hop on over that fence and get ready to rock! You won’t be disappointed! I know I’m not!
