Sweetwater's video of Gretsch at Summer NAMM 2017:
That blue one has my name on it
Looks like some usefull additions overall but that CAR Electromatic knocks it out of the park for me.

I like the Country Gentleman - must not look.
For me the blue Annie is the most stunning news, at least regarding the looks.
Jet's weight seems to vary alot, best to try first. Ive got an old model and lots of guys complain about them being heavy, mine is just right imo.
It's not clear to me if the Fairlane blue Jet is blue all over, or just a blue top on black sides/back?
I'm wondering too if the Penguin parlor model might experience the headstock diving, with that Falcon/Penguin headstock?
When I tried a Penguin parlor I thought it was neck heavy, but others have said it's ok.
It's blue all over!
Take a closer look. If it were an Annie Jr, I'd be slayed.
Thanks Jim... you're such an enabler! I'm blue with envy on this!
You're welcome, Ed. One addict to another. Forever in Blueness!
Are street prices on these new models available yet? I, too, am interested in the Fairlane Blue Jet (in spite of the tailpiece!).
I think 30% +/- off of MSRP is a good guideline.
I think of this guy when I see your name, but you must be told that a lot (?)
First thing I noticed was the chrome jack plate. When did they start putting those on?
Thanks for picking up on that. Not many know 'Reruns' real name so you are one of the first. There is a story involving me, my wife, the Academy Awards and Carol Berry, 'Reruns' widow and mother of Fred Berry Jr. I'll post that story along with a pic when I have a little more time.
Carol Berry posted this pic (that I provided) of my wife holding an Oscar to her son's, i.e., Fred Berry Jr., website about 2 years ago. The following link (lengthy) provides the background on my connection with the Academy Awards show. On June 9, 2015 the Academy hosted my wife, our two grandkids and myself at which time I provided them the archive video they requested.
BTW, the Oscar my wife is holding is the one that was presented by Steven Spielberg to George Lucas live from space via the space shuttle Atlantis during the show in 1992. The video of this event is on YouTube.
Only critique from my side ... the black headstock doesn't fit the rest of the body design. For my taste it should be equal to pickguard and body backside. But that's a matter of personal taste.
PS: No, the headstock should have the same color as the top ... yes, much better
Note how none of the new models have the stupid mud switch, even with humbuckers. Gretsch is tacitly admitting it's a useless feature!
(Ducking from the flames thrown my way!)
YES!!!! I saw that!!! I started doing my Snoopy Dance around my living room!!!!!
It's getting hard to fight the blue ............
I wonder how blue it is compared to my hotrod. The hot rod has a slight sparkle to it Don't think the Jett does.
