Looking to sell my 2018 Gretsch G6120 Brian Setzer signature model in Roman Red. Very beautiful flame top and back on this one.

I got this guitar from a trade, and I just don’t care much for the tone (a little too much on the low end for my liking).

This thing is in mint condition, and also comes with OHSC, case candy, extra bridge, and adjustment tool.

Looking for $2300 shipped, but open to reasonable offers.

Dropping price down to $1900 OBO. Just want to move this guitar.

I can also meet up (in the eastern Iowa area).

thats one of the features that makes it a Setzer model. one volume and a pick up selection. My understanding is that he felt a tone got in the way of the pickups sound, not allowing it to be totally what it could be. I may be wrong, but thats what i read somewhere here years back. I got a hotrod for partially that reason. I dont use tone knobs, and only having to fiddle with one while playing simplifies things.

I think it’s mostly just to simplify the controls. A tone switch has no effect when the switch is in the center position, because the tone caps are isolated from the rest of the circuit. It could be argued that the pickup volume controls detract from the pure sound coming out of the pickups, but the amount of effect may well be fairly minor.

I have replicated this circuit on one of my Tennies and I love the sound. Effectively, this particular Tennie is the functional equivalent of a Setzer Hot Rod, and it’s a great sounding, very lightweight guitar. If I had some spare money lying about, I would be very tempted by this guitar.
