Hey all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I wanted to share my "transition year" Tennessean (Serial No. 42611) I acquired a couple years ago. I purchased it from the original owner's son, who inherited it, and I'm now the proud caretaker. It came with its original case, hang tags, and Gretsch Guarantee documents.

Since this model is seemingly very rare, and there's no online record of this specific guitar, I just wanted to say it exists, and is in good hands. I had a friend take some nice photos of it this week, so I figured that was a good reason to finally post!

Wow... that looks to be in immaculate condition. This one is from the last batch of the 6113. I'd love to get a pot code date from it (but I know that's real pain in arse to access on this model).
Thanks! I was stunned when I bought it, especially by the binding. There's virtually no binding rot on this guitar, only minor separations in the existing seams between the pieces at the neck joint.

Re: pot codes - I haven't opened it up, but I have been meaning to take it in to a shop to get some small electrical bugs addressed. I'll have them take the pot codes while they're in there and get back to you! Want to try and document as much as I can.

Also, thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. A Gretsch has been a dream guitar since I was very young, especially a period model like this. Really excited to have it!

Where the action is!
Nice! These are cool guitars with an unusual story tied to them. I used to own one that was built seven guitars later. 42618:

Congrats!! I had one 45 years ago and thought it was a Tenny.. I bought one a few months back serial #41595 & It.s great. I did have Curt @Oldschood Guitars reset the neck and refret it and I installed a Tru-Arc Serpentune brass Bridge! This one has a 4-ply Heel Cap and the binding is in very good shape. The tone is pretty amazing & I’m really enjoying it. I find myself playing it more than my Gibson R-9 Murphy Lab Les Paul or my 1960 #6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman (single cutaway).
The HiLoTron pickups are really sweet sounding(once I got them adjusted right..).
