1 Meg Pots and harness questions

I have a black Falcon PE with Setzer Sigs in it and I’d like to try a 1 Meg Master volume pot… possibly even 1Meg pickup volume pots, as I’d like to get a bit more high end sparkle from the guitar.

While I’m at it, should I consider changing the stock wiring harness? Like with a TVJ one, or other? Should I consider different caps with the 1Meg pots?

Thank you for your thoughts.

A TV Jones harness is a great upgrade. Shielded wire and top notch components are worth the cost, and it's all done for you aside from sticking it in and connecting the pickups.

You could possibly squeeze a bit more high end out with just the new wire harness. Stock harness is never up to snuff and bogs the signal down. Can’t tell you if it will solve your issue though. We all perceive sound differently.

Sold on the TVJ harness!

Regarding the pots, this video got me thinking about it, and based on this fellow’s results, I am leaning heavily on changing the pot(s) as well:

That’s a good vid. I thought the 3x 1m pots was a bit much, I liked the single 1M on the Master best, maybe with a no-load pot on the tone pot(s)?

Incidently I wasn’t talking about a TVJ harness specifically. More about changing the stock wiring for something low capacitance(pf).

Yeah I think the single 1M on the Master will be a reasonable first step.
The guitar already has a stock No load tone pot!

Any suggestions for a low capacitance wiring harness other than the TVJ?

Sorry for the late reply. I have no idea. I bought a big roll of low pf Belden cable to make my own. Can’t even remember which Belden cable. 😬

I think I'd adjust my amp differently 🤔
😉
Tried that..turning the treble up on the amp just makes it more piercing but doesn't give me the additional brilliance, clarity and chime I'd like to hear.
I could also use my Para EQ pedal for some additive EQ'ing, but it is easier for me to use subtractive EQ - I find it easier to subtract frequencies I don't like, than to try and add frequencies with EQ that the guitar doesn't inherently have.
