A few guys has come to ask..

Thx for your concerns guys. Me timing out has been due to a back injury. A couple of discs in my lower back went completely belly up so there´s a good reason for me not been around for a while. Loads of Oxy has been a life saver, let me tell you! ;) Still recovering, still working on amps. Just...

All said and done this amp was done, just lacking a faceplate. I opted to go as simple as possible and have to say that...yeah. This´ll melt into the design like nobodys business. Amp is sold and with the install of that faceplate ready for delivery. In summary running a quad of 6V6 for an...

Some of them just turn out to have "that". This one does. Magic. The new output transformer made for all the difference and as is..this is one serious powerhouse since of today. DAMN this thing is wide! From shimmering cleans to downright mayhem. Just press the footswitch and all hell breaks...

Uhu. It DOES get intense. No argument, but trust me when i say that every wire´s there for a purpose. A good one at that. From a simplicity POW i guess we´ve left Kansas a while back. There is a tube or two involved see... That said i need to tidy that bundle there up a bit,but you get the...

Right. So i got the thing wired to the point where i fired the powerstage up. All good n dandy i guess, but as anticipated B+ voltage was a tad low seing what i have in mind. So. I stacked them two 14VAC windings ontop and that made B+ end up at 420VDC @ 25mA per tube. Perfect... Speaker...

Things are coming together. That there output transformer will handle at least 45 watts so... Checked gearing of it and it´ll be rather spot on for a quad of 6V6´s at 8 Ohm and it turn just a tad low at 16 Ohms. Can´t win ´em all i guess... :D Only differs a few hundred Ohms vs spec but none...

4pcs of JJ 6V6. So let´s kill an urban myth right off the bat. It has been said more times then i care to remember that these are 6L6´s in 6V6 glass online. Well. In contrast to many i happen to own a rather well calibrated U-Tracer and tell you what...it doesn´t know how to lie so here´s the...

Picked this up on German e-bay a while ago for a song. Had no idea what it was at the time, but as it turns out..this was one serious build. Reason for not knowing of it...guess i´ll regard myself as excused cause see...this is an amp out of an Ahlborn C5 organ. Built in West-Germany back in the...

    Geloso G.221

Ok. So done deal, this is the net result. Happy? Yeah, happy. Tossed a highpass filter at the circuit to make the thing more overtone prone as gain increases and i´d say that had exactly the result i was asking for. These smaller amps, the thing is about on size with a Tiny Terror and weighs a...

For the sake of argument. This is the finished amp within (sans the two wires heading for the pilot light). Clean, tidy and to the point. I bet a hobbyist could figure this out need be. Two 6V6´s at approx 370VDC and then a pair of small signal tubes, just used way different then in the 5E9 in...

Getting there. Still needs more clearcoat and what´s more i need to adress the bottom plate too. That said the amp plays great. Going to try yet a few tweaks tossed at it and see where that takes me. All in all though already a really great little rocknroll amp with plenty volume ontap and does...

Started wiring the thing. Goes more into that than most believe i think. Yep. Even a "discharge" resistor installed, atop the rectifier bridge. Choke is the stocker, just relocated.

Sure enough. The 221 got the treatment too. Out back, apart from the modern jack n fuseholder,i came to fab a block-off plate as mentioned. Didn´t really melt into the surrounding tho but hey..can´t win ´em all! Uhu. Coming together. Again. I want to boost the quality of these old PA amps...

There was two of them in the bundle right and this is the other one. A model G.221 and truth be told i´ve had half an eye open for one of these for quite a while. Marshall JTM-30,modded to kingdom come

Make no mistake. The 30 is WAY less crowded than the 60 within. No joke! Difference is like night and day. No matter,i guess you get an idea of layout. I opted to install fuseholders for both sides of the heaters and in turn that small blue trimpot for adjustable bias voltage. The toroid PT...

    Marshall JTM-30,modded to kingdom come

The infamous later JTM amps. All plagued by a piss poor design as far as ventilation, which indeed is what kills them. It just escapes me how people living on the british isles to this day can fail in such megamassive ways when it comes to ventilation. Well. Whatever. (Pic stolen online) So...

Installed 1M Ohm trimpots as so called reostats in series with a 470k resistor to be able to dial idle current (bias) in for the two 6SJ7 small signal pentodes. Amounted to zip from a practical POW to be honest. Worked...worked...worked...turned to mush. Well. Then we know the value of doing...
