I'll say yes you "need" one. But.
It's not just about the tone. It's the vibe too.
Every guitar has its own vibe, but a Strat ....I can't explain it, but it sure has a special one.
Variety is a good thing, especially if you're not dialed in to one signature sound.
When I had a Strat, I just...
The modern "flat" handle" arms that I've had appear to be stamped.
I replaced mine with "DE" handles, which are cast. DO NOT TRY AND BEND A CAST ARM.
I set the DE handle height by changing the large spring. 7/8" springs work for me.
Best of luck.
I've noticed no string tension change between a Callaham bar and a standard pinned bar.
The Callaham bar has large enough holes for 13's.
FWIW, the Callaham is made from stainless steel, so ball ends don't have a chance to "dig in" to the chamfered area that they seat in.
Hope this helps some.
Agreed. I'm blessed with some great equipment that's far above my playing skills. I don't need or really want anything else.
They have spoiled me, and it's a joy to play them.
I'm sticking with some more trains with this hypothetical windfall. 😆
Your budget? That's the question, as there are many great amps on the market.
Price points are very different.
FWIW, when I had my -59, it sounded excellent through my Excelsior.
Very nice gits and happy hunting.
