    Everest (2015)

I saw this in the theater, but only cuz the ol’ lady thought it make for a fun IMAX 3D experience, and it did. It had some pretty dazzling visuals, but the drama seemed silly to me, since, ya know, no one was forcing those lunatics to do what they're doing. It’s definitely not a movie I’d ever...

Tell me about 5129's with the big F holes...

My 5129 originally had the B70, but worked great with a B6. Especially with the custom Tru-arc bridge made with deeper grooves. The strings never jumped from their saddles, and it stayed in tune very well. I modified the 5128 into a hotrod with just a switch and a master volume. I equipped it...

Tell me about 5129's with the big F holes...

I had a 5129 and a 5128. Both of them had huge F-holes and were awesome guitars. I thought the giant F-holes were so cool.

Kids In the Hall Documentary and New Episodes!

Dave foley’s forlorn facial expressions between talking in the sketch about the radio DJ during the apocalypse had me laughing so hard I was almost crying. Amazing.

Kids In the Hall Documentary and New Episodes!

Watched 4 of the new new episodes last night. I thought it was every bit as smart, weird, and hilarious as the old stuff. I was laughing harder than I have for a very long time.

    Bigsby handle vice bending

I had a chet wire handle on a bigsby’d telecaster a few years back and I bent mine in a vice. Worked fine. I wrapped it in a hand-towel before tightening the vice, and held another hand-towel in my hands while I pulled it toward me. I was lucky maybe cuz there was no snapping sound. I must...

Same here! Thanx, I think so too! Totally feel a difference, and the fresh set-up has made the neck a lot faster.

    Modding Electromatic

    Well done! Looks killer!
  13. calebaaron666

Yeah, they seem like a bear to deal with. This particular Luthier actually recommends them! Thanx!!

How close? Filtertrons in an Electromatic.

Right, mostly. :) Doesn’t mean it’ll “feel” or “look” as good as a proline. However, all that stuff is subjective. If we’re just talking about the tones coming from the speaker on a stage, or on a recording, you’d have to be, as I’ve read someone smarter than me once say, “discerning to the...

How close? Filtertrons in an Electromatic.

In my humble opinion, if you drop higher quality pickups (TV Jones, HS Filtertrons etc) into an Electromatic, it has the potential to SOUND just as good as a proline.

2004 Silver Falcon silver sparkle binding and my old eyes..

I have little stickers on the fret markers of my White Falcon or else I can’t see them against the gold binding under the stage lights.

MOTÖRHEAD were the best! They kept putting out great albums right up until the end. They were definitely heavy, but I consider them 100% Rock n’ Roll! To this day my favorite of theirs is the live version of the song “Motörhead” that can be found on the live “No Sleep Till Hammersmith” LP and...

    Blue Moon Baby

Fun! Love this song. Here’s a version I recorded with my 6120 during lockdown.

I love it, man. Duane Eddy tone with the flick of a switch! I had a T-armond neck pickup paired with a Classic Plus in my 5420T, and I loved the variety. I kept the HS bridge pickup here, and they balance really well. The middle position still sounds great.

Thanx! I thought so too. LMNOP! Yeah, these dBridges are amazing.
  22. calebaaron666

Yeah, I’m the same way and I wore the original frets to uselessness. Deep valleys in cowboy chord territory and flat-earth the rest of the way up the neck from ape-man bends. I had ss frets put in my 1995 6120 in 2020, and as soon as I tried it, I knew the Falcon would get them when the time...
  23. calebaaron666

So true! I figure it’s only $100 more to get SS. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right!
  24. calebaaron666

Yeah man. I now have 2 Gretschs and an Esquire with ss frets. I wore the original frets on the Falcon down to unplayability. It’s a relief knowing I’ll never have to worry about them again.

New Stainless Steel Frets, Pickup, Nut, and Pinned Bridge Day! Had a very skilled Luthier do some much needed work on my White Falcon. I’m very pleased with the work so far. Medium stainless steel frets so I’ll never have to worry about them again! Newly cut bone nut TV Jones T-Armond front...
