I absolutely hated the ceramics in my 99 6119. Moved to TV Jones and never looked back.
You need some sort of single coil to get that twang IMO.

The ceramic pickups though, were complete crap. Replaced with TV Jones.
I tried a few and settled with the Zoom MS50.
Yeah, try an MS50.
I’d recommend a Zoom, lots of options for you and they sound great.
I have a P-Rail. Good pickup. P90 and humbucker modes particularly (both humbucker modes sound the same pretty much).
Spey side is great... plus it’s a place near where I live here in Scotland. Hmm...

I also have the Digitech pedal that emulates a 12 and it’s pretty amazing...
These are very good amps, this series was used by Mark Knopfler in the 90s.
Sadly they weren’t that well made and can have some jack issues.
