Yes mine is a 64 but meaning The 62 model...
But if it's regular filters in a hilotron cover, as you mentioned earlier in the thread, which model would these covers come from and how have they ended up on the Gents from this particular batch?
JBO
Just came across some pictures of the 59 model... Could these black top filters be from the 59 models and ended up on the 62 by coincidence or in lack of the others...?
Yeah it's a Chandler ... Great, great 90's tele with brand new Creamery pups. Bought it from a good friend of mine, and as a part of the deal, it comes with guitar lessons. He's a phenomenal guitarist and I'm mainly into keyboards ...but getting there...
I have asked him about the missing parts, but they seem to be gone...
He just wrote me that the pickups were the ones that came with the guitar en 64. Actually I don't think he removed the pups to put in a strat...
By destroying the guitar I mean that there's no frets left and some pretty nasty...
My dad in law, who bought the guitar in 64, tried at some point to put in strat pickups... Late 70's or something, when the Gretsch sound wasn't exactly topping the charts. I kinda screamed and laughed inside when he told me... He also tried to fix the frets himself, which basically destroyed...
I'll photograph the pickups and let's see what you think... I'm very sure they came with the guitar back in the day but let's see what you think. I have no idea ceramic or not, someone sugested it on the facebook Gretsch owners group page...
Thanks Wayne for the info. What a coincidence... They must have left the factory the same day...
So what you are saying is that it's not out of necessity that different pickups was chosen, it was the choice for this specific batch.
I thought it might have something to do with not being able to...
