I just got the full Amplitube 5 suite for me laptop. I think it sounds pretty good for $99.
Not trying to replace my tube amps at all but I bought it for practice convenience, recording ideas and maybe eventually for playing at church.
I'm very happy for you! This was a fantastic deal and every guitarist should experience at least a season with a Telecaster.

I can relate to much of this. I’ve come to realize that much of it is psychological damage and/or genetics.

I know different guitars of the same specs sound different even when all other factors are considered.
