I used my Roundup on this giant, crazy gig. I played 44 of the 52 songs that night.
The list was very varied, and because you can really only bring 1 guitar (storage space is non-existent) I decided to take my 2009 Knotty Pine Roundup.
One main reason was weight. I recently had a heart procedure...
After decades of SS amps (on a ton of gigs), I traded a rarely used DRRI for a Supro Jupiter. I think I'll work it into the rotation where I never used the Fender. Sounds great with my 2009 Roundup.
6. What company leased space in the original Brooklyn factory, and what did they make??
This thread has gone off the rails.
The answer is Robert Hall Stores. They had a chain of clothing stores. They made suits in the Gretcsh factory in the 50's.
When I worked at The Music Zoo in 2018, we had this and an Inca Silver that was not a relic and I believe had a Bigsby.
They were HEAVY monsters. Stern C/S.
Vibramate V5 with a Bigsby B5. The south side of the Vibramate may hang off the top of the board (under the carve), but it will be fine. I have done it.
I go back and forth between this Hallmark and a Roundup for Surf and C/W gigs.
Made in Korea, wired and finished in the US. 90 were built in 3 batches of 30 each.
The guitar is based off a double neck Mosrite built for Joe Maphis by Semie Mosely in the 50's. Pickups are copies of the Carvin...
I believe 75 of these were made.
I added a Bigsby and a Mono Plak TRC. They don't offer a Gretsch version, so I sent them the stock TRC and they modified one for me.
I also changed the 6 bridge screws to a lower profile. I can see how that was a turn-off for someone picking one up in the 50's...
Vibramate V5/B5. I have done it to many guitars. Don't worry about the archtop and that 2 of the feet will most likely be off the body.
I have added one to several LP arch top guitars. Easy Peasy.
Based off the early 1950's double neck that Semie Moseley built for Joe Maphis.
It's a bit big, it's a bit heavy (even chambered!), but the sound is amazing. Pickups based off the Carvin units from back in the day. Both together is a full and clear sound. Powerful!
This was another guitar I...
When I worked at The Music Zoo, I posted a picture of me with a Chet Atkins that had come in, writing "Holding my Dream Guitar!". It sold the next day at the store. (Had a repaired neck. He got a deal!)
My g/f saved that picture and, knowing very little about Gretsches at the time, checked...
