  • Hey Scott, wanted to run a question by a fellow T-LDS owner. I got my Falcon a couple weeks ago and am loving it. I typically play .011s on my strats, and put a set on the falcon. The strings don't feel as "tight" as they do on my strats. Have you noticed this, too? I figured since the scale length was the same, they would feel similar. The strings just feel more "slack" on the falcon. Thinking of putting the Not Even Slinky set on it (I play a half step down). That might be a bit too much strain for the neck, though. Wanted to see what you thought. Maybe it's all in my head.
Also, I've been reading a little bit on the forum about "sweet spots" for the Dynas. Should I be too concerned with that? I have not had it "professionally" set up or anything. It seems to play great; the action is low and it sounds great through my Fender Vibroverb. But I have no frame of reference. I certainly want it to sound as good as it can. I know some guys were talking about the pull of the magnets on the strings, and that causing a buzz. I think that might be happening, but again, it's not a real bother...it's pretty subtle. For all I know, it's supposed to sound like that. Thanks for any advice.
    Best,

Scott, thanks for the kind words. Johnny Horton is fantastic and I'm a big fan, as well. This is a great forum: intelligent and courteous and not edgy or combative like other forums I've been involved with. Good people with the bottom line love of music. Thanks for having me! JB
