Okay, so I want to get a strap for my 5120, but I feel the Gretsch straps are just too thin. I'm looking for something thicker. Black leather would be perfect. I'm just curious what kind of strap everyone else has on their Gretsch and/or if you could point me to some websites to get quality...
I like it when it starts jamming at the half-way mark. Needs a bass in there too. I don't think you sound flat, but yeah a little reverb might might give you a smoother sound. I would add a slight room echo to the entire piece, actually.
Anyone else record directly into their PC like I do? I bought this PreSonus TubePre pre-amp which allows me to plug right into my PC. In-line I have various Danelectro effects pedals. It's all a very simple, quaint set-up that sounds pretty darn cool. For after-effects I use Sonic Foundry's...
My new 5120 does not have any fret buzz whatsoever. It somehow feels and plays nicer than my other 5120 (which is going back today).
All stock parts, but for $450 what the heck...
That is the color I'm getting from MF. Should be here next week. I fear it has the clear pickguard, though, but that is a small price to pay for that beauty. I'll either paint the pickguard or get a silver one. Can't wait!
Actually tonight I think I heard the buzz through amp...or maybe my ears playing tricks on me. At any rate, that guitar is going back because I bought another 5120 in the color I wanted (deep cherry red) for much cheaper.
I just bought a 5120 last weekend and immediately noticed the 4th, 5th, and 6th strings all had a fret buzz. Is this normal for new guitars? I didn't notice the buzz through my amp so I'm not worried about, just curious as to if this is normal. Thanks.
I'm a first-time Gretsch owner and this...
