My Mastertone is a 6 string GB-3 Banjo.
      Same as Neil Young uses.

Tuned High Strung with a 0.60 on the bass side dropped to D.
      Sounds great.

Yep I got a 5 string banjo. I'm a bluegrass fan and hence a Scruggs fan as well. The banjo is a 70s Ibanez made in Japan. It is a Mastertone knock off but has really good build quality and tone. I'll send you some pics. How did you happen accross the Mastertone. They are really sought after?

On the 6120. The Japanese made ones I have played have been OK I've heard mixed things on quality. They have the sound though.

The 'old' 6120 is really nice. It is really well set up and just a joy to play. I run though a Hot Rod Deluxe which is a pretty good fit. When I find an early '60s Bassman it will be a better fit but the search still goes on.

Keep up the search for 6120 1960 is as late a year as I personally would take it. 58-59 was my target year when I was looking.

      keep well

      I was watching a late 58 6120 on ebay.Ended at £ 4.6000 plus shipping.
Thought long and hard but money is a bit tight at the moment.

Good price..Ilove my Re Issue but hate new guitar's.. Allmy guitar's are old.
They just feel so much nicer to me..

My Gibson Guitar Banjo is a 1926 ball bearing Masterone.
I see you have a banjo case????

How does a Japmade 6120 compare with the real thing John..
      Incidently,that 58 had a B6 like yours..
