new gretsch on it's way mate!!!!!!!
the falcons all have long scale length necks - string bending nightmare for an ex-shredder like me. so i decided to look in to the 6120 range. the best spec'd model appears to be the sslvo . they make a flamed maple model too - but it looks a bit "fake" with all that flame. so i've chose the sslvo mainly for trestle bracing, nitro laquer, 9.5 fretboard radis, and tv jones pickups etc.
I bought it from wildwood guitars for $2200 plus $200 shipping.
mind you - i sold a gibson rd and national resophonic delphi to fund it.

ben - i've gotta go to swindon this weekend.
but - i'll be taking a half day off work to take delivery of the new gretsch.
i'll let you know when that'll be - and you're welcome to come over.
ps - i've had to have some work done on my martin 00018ge. bridge has started to come away from the body.
I had a look around and there's a luthier/repair guy near usk called richard meyrick.
      google richard meyrick guitars.
he's a handy guy to know. young bloke - studied in london college of musical insrument building - dave king (the official martin uk repair man) was his teacher.
he'd be a useful contact for wood and stuff...one of those people you could talk to all day.

      look forward to getting together.
