Hi! Those guitars are pretty sweet! All mahogany, right??
I bought and still own a Guild D-40 in 1971. It's the onlyguitar I've held on to. Recently got out the drill and installed a Baggs M-1 pickup in it so I can use it on gigs.
It sounds sweet. It's a loud guitar. The D-25 M is indeed all mahogany. It doesn't sound like a martin or a Taylor, it's a much darker guitar. But I'll never get rid of it. I bought it to do solo acoustic shows when I was in my late teens, it was about 12 years old then with a beat to hell case and a excellent body. I've banged it around a lot for the last 15 years but it still sounds and plays just like day one. I think as it's aged/dried out over time it's gotten a little bit better. I'll look into the M-1 I've used Dean Markley and an old Bill Lawrence sound hole pickups, they do the trick but not so convenient or easy on my thinning sound hole edges. (when I was younger I used to beat the crap out of it.
