A bartender said I was an “old soul” when I was about 21. I thought this was cool back then. Now I realize it’s cuz I was a miserable-crusty-surly-stick-in-the-mud.
But I never had much patience for young people, even when I was a young person. Never had much use for older people either.
I guess I’m what you call a real people person ;)

Lol. A friend of mine said that to me once, honestly I have no idea what she meant.
And it's not that I dont like people, I just have unreasonable standards.

When you remember doing something and say" damn, that was 30 years ago" and you were already an adult.

You remember being willing to stick a crusty set of these in your mouth.

I do my grocery shopping once a week and for two weeks in a row there were no peas & carrots in the frozen section at Stop & Shop. So went to the counter and complained “are peas & carrots a delicacy now? Are we in the old Soviet Union?”.

I realized I used to be a rock star with groupies, hanging at the v.i.p. lounge at the coolest clubs, now I’m the old guy yelling about peas & carrots at Stop & Shop.

When I received the Blue Retired Military ID Card 2 Octobers ago. Very depressing day! We have some young friends and they give me hope for the future. They and their friends are bright, hard working and interesting. It is weird though taking guitar and voice lessons in my 60s.

    Oh, I'd forgotten that.
I had one with my very first nylon guitar. Don't know how I managed to have one of the notes buzzing, but it really did. Possibly by drowning it in water to clean it.

When I turned on the Grammy awards and I didn't know any of the artists and their songs. I don't even bother watching the Grammys any more.

These are pitch pipes. Back in the day there were no affordable electric tuners so we had these You’d blow through them and they’d give you the pitch for every string. Unless you had a keyboard player in which case the ubiquitous “Gimme an A” was used.
