Was last seen in August?
He's taking a break. The never-ending Chinese spam was just too much for him. Maybe he will return if the mods ever work out how to stop it. I miss him a lot, he was a thoughtful and knowledgeable contributor.
Come home darling.
yea , miss him too ....
Yes hope he returns soon...
I miss him too!!
Maybe the monkeys took over money island
Was wondering that myself the other day
I thought he took time off to train one of the monkeys to be his butler
The spam IS annoying, but not too difficult to get rid of. I hope Ricochet returns soon.
Come back soon, friend.
He's allergic to cats, but took two kittens to take care of...
The spam is way less annoying than me and some others here.
We miss you @Ricochet!
I sent Rich a PM back in October asking if he was OK. A few days ago I got this reply:
"I hope this finds you well. I just happen to re-install the Tapatalk app(which I hate) and saw your PM. Thank you for your concern!
"The initial reason I haven't been on the forum for so long is my web browser indicates GT is not a secure site. They or someone is potentially phishing for user information(user names and passwords).
Oddly this happens on the GDP, the Marshall and MyLP forum as well, all sites I used to visit at one time or other. Any other site I don't have this problem.
"I've certainly missed the gang over at GT, and at times almost gave in and logged in despite the security risk, but as it is I haven't been feeling well for the last couple of months. I really feel too drained to participate in discussion, and I can't stand how the quality of my posts has deteriorated over the last year(s). Perhaps the monkeys finally got to me...
"Please say hello to the gang, I miss them dearly, but unless the security issue is not resolved I won't be coming back.
"All the best!"
So it's a relief to know he's still kicking. I miss him, as others have already said. The monkeys have had him to themselves for too long.
Do we have a real security problem on GT?
I personally don't think so. I think, but could be wrong, the security issue is a pre-blessing by some services certifying to the safety or a website. Those that don't carry the certificate get a warning. However, it does not necessarily mean it is unsafe. For example, if I access my work email through a web browser, I get a similar warning, but our mail site is safe, we just don't get a special certificate for it because it isnt a public site. Many small businesses can run into this issue.
Having said all that, I am no IT expert and could be totally wrong.
Thanks Mark , I miss him too
Must admit that lately I have found the site going very slow and every now and then I get redirected to other "strange" pages that have nothing to do with GT or any guitars. Between that and the Chinese spam it does put you off logging in.
