My first grandchild was born this evening... I just got home from the hospital and while the digital pics download and convert. While I was waitin', I thought I'd share the good news.

Her mother is healthy and fine. The labor was relatively short. The baby is healthy , cute as a button and very curious.

She is Aidan Elizabeth and she was 8 lbs, 11 oz, 21.5 inches long and born at 7:26 EST.

    Congrats!

One of the things I've learned with my child (who's 9 months) is that at Target they sell these things called swaddles, which are likc potato sacks for kids. You put them into the sack and valcro them in nice and tight. It REALLY helps the baby sleep since they're so used being constrained and my wife and I bought about eight over the course of the first few months. I think the ones that we liked the best cost about ten bucks and are worth EVERY penny for as much sleep as possible.

Oh man, if they only made them in my size. I love being wrapped up tight at night. That's why we sleep with different blankets because we both like being borderlined mummified at night.:D

I could use one of those swaddles for my wife the next time I buy a guitar.
