What's your "desert island" guitar?

This has probably been a topic here many many times, but people's tastes (and guitar collections) change over time, so why not ask again?

If I could only pick one guitar, it would be a tough call between my fender modern player short-scale telecaster, my '91 red fender duo-sonic, my Wayne Kramer signature strat, and my very fake (but fantastic) Chinese white billy-bo. It's really hard to narrow it down more than that, but gun-to-my-head, I'd probably pick the Tele; it's pretty versatile, (not as much as the Wayne Kramer strat, but still more versatile than most others), it sounds great, and it's probably my best feeling guitar. It's completely stock, but I did take the gloss finish down on the back of the neck, so now it's a silky-smooth satin neck that feels absolutely perfect in my hands.

What about all of you fine folks? What is you're desert island guitar? Is it something you already own? Something you only dream of owning? Tell us all about it, and why you'd choose it! (And of course pictures are always a plus!)

I take it then that the "desert island" has AC Power?;)

May we have a picture of your Wayne Kramer strat pleeeease ?

Think I'd take my Washburn D10CE, to remain on the safe side in case of power shortage :p

Well, if it were a 3 hour tour, then ya, a Jet or a Tele.
On an island with no power for the duration (with Maryanne)? Probably a nice parlor acoustic.

This would be it! It's an acoustic steel guitar.

  6. Maybe a rain song OM? Carbon Fiber might do better with the climate/weather....

    Very good yet sobering point.

If this island has AC, then I'll take my trusted G6128-1962T and whatever amp I end up loving.

If no power, my '65 Martin 000-18 with Tommy Emmanuel's signature on the back of the headstock.

If the island is big enough, I'll take both!

And, of course, Molly comes, too.

This one will work whether there's power or not, with its 17 inch full thickness body providing good acoustic volume.

Ok, if I had to have a Gretsch, power or no power, I would take this one:

Otherwise I would grab my old D35S Martin.

Shoot, I'd bring the little Vox for a guitar stand. Lol

Although an acoustic would make the most sense...and assuming Mary Ann and Ginger wont be there...this girl would make me the happiest;)

It would have to be a hollowbody since there would likely be no power but then you would also likely have high humidity to deal with and steel strings ugh. Ugh what hell is this? I hate be be the half empty glass guy but...lol.
