They are most definitely a thing at the North Carolina state fair in October every year. Whether they are actually made from an Amish recipe or not, I don’t know. But they are incredible.

Pay off all outstanding debt, sock away a year of what would wind up being fairly small monthly fixed expenses (hell, I might already have 6-8 months in the emergency fund if I took away mortgage & line of credit), put $100K into general low risk investments, dump the rest into the shop even though I know the overwhelming odds that it's a losing proposition...

Everything I've got is paid for so I'd probably just put it in my brokerage account where I slowly lose money

I would buy me a G6120 EC and then pay back the mortgage. Or the other way around. Change the car to a newer one. With the rest? I don't know, but I'm certain Mrs Howdy does.

Like some others, I'd tithe first (hey, I'm a retired pastor).

After that, I'd become debt free.

Then I'd probably split it between the kids - to help my fireman son get his first home in Denver (a very expensive market), and to help my daughter and son-in-law with getting their new home set up.

    Anything left over gets invested.

Buy a house - buy the few cars and bikes I really like (like a Guzzi, a Norton Fetherbed - don't know yet which exactly -, Maserati Biturbo, Lancia Delta, ...), buy a bunch of other stuff and get my patent-worth-stuff drawer - most of it about passenger car engines - patented, buy a few guitars and amps and stuff, put something aside for bad times and something for good times like concerts that are within physical, but out of financial reach now.

And donate some, for something I consider worth it. Animals.

Buy a simple house, a few guns, Gibson j200 and Gretsch 6012, and then give the rest to charity.

    Give 250,000 to my mum.

    I'm currently debt free......for now,but i'd buy a modest house , cause i've been renting forever.
I need a new car cause my current ride is 20 years old with dodgy electrics and has been leaking like a sieve for the best part of 2 years ,and i keep dipping into the car fund to buy guitars i don't need!

    Buy more geets of course.:rolleyes::D

    Holiday/vacation ,haven't had one since 2007.

Put whatever's left in the bank, there isn't much in there right now as it stands!

Maybe I should have said, "...whatever the wife wants; and for me, guitars, amps, trips, etc."

A house. Not to big. Not to small. Just right for my wife and my daughter. And the rest for a rainy day.

I’d sell about everything and move to France, learn French, buy or lease a house in the Lot or Dordogne regions, apply for citizenship, keep enough money to live well but not extravagantly.

Wasn't that the most classically worst investments in all of history?
