Just curious. It’s not enough to make you rich but more than enough to change things.

$500,000 in one lump sum, cash, after taxes, no strings.

    1. Pay off everybody I owe (house, cars, credit cards)
    2. Find a reliable investment firm.
    3. Be smart with what's left.

Pay off everything, Invest save some, plan for kids collage, invest some more, play with a bit if anything was left over like a new Moonshine amp, a Custom Shop Martin and Gretsch. Fun to dream.

That would cover most of my mortgage. I’d pay off all credit cards and the mortgage leaving me with a small debt.

    I’d then travel.

Have you seen the cost of school in this day and age! It is insane, even as a resident I think if they pursue an advanced degree it will be incredibly expensive. I am already working on them to pick a useful goal not just some esoteric crap they can't get a job with. But if I had the money what a wall of amps and cabs I would have. @TV the Wired Turtle would probably have a heart attack when I sent in an order for all of his amps! hahaha still fun to dream!

    1. Tithe.
    2. Pay off the mortgage (not too tough - there's not much left).
    3. Fully fund daughter #2's college.
    4. Stick most of the rest into savings.
    5. Leave out a little for fun stuff like whatever the wife wants, guitars, amps, trips, etc.

Pay off my mortgage, my car and my credit card. Probably be able to afford a burger with the leftover funds.

Pay off house, credit cards, new car, and a new guitar or two. Maybe a watch or two. Invest some for upcoming retirement. And travel. Maybe take a trip to go see Bertotti's kids collage (I presume they made it while they were at college ;)).

Pay the hospital bills coz I'd likely have a heart attack if I won a half a mil.

With the rest, I'd buy a beer.

The 1st thing I would do is buy a 1955 Gibson and give it to a guy so he doesn't sell the gal he really loves. Then...........Well we'll just keep going down that road.

More and more I find myself thinking that I don't really need anything new anymore. But then again, if Cadillac still made Sedan De Villes like they did 45 years ago...;)

I'd put it with the other 500,000 I already have in the bank.

    Pennies, that is.

I’d gather my guitars, my Siamese and a few significant possessions, find a quiet spot with favorable weather and watch Arizona disappear in my rear view mirror.

500K US would make me a Kazillionair over here...but ok, I’ll play.

Upgrade the house and/or location. Maybe a new wardrobe. I just threw out some 20 yo Ts...:)

Set aside part for the kids and invest for them. Enough to get them to Uni and/or throw a wedding party. Maybe set up a small business venture for my wife.

And my little fantasy. Set up a no profit foundation to promote guitar music. First part of the plan entices shipping the entire content of the man cave to another continent and starting a “guitar library”. After you show any promise you can borrow an instrument from the Ricochet catalogue. If it takes off maybe add other instruments. Offer lessons, workshops, open a recording studio, luthier courses. Who knows.

All that for 500K? Why yes, yes I can.

Pay off what little debt I have.

Buy a 67 Olds Cutlass in cherry shape.

Take a leave of absence from my job, and take my Gal and my dog on a long thrifty road trip thru the USA.

    Buy a 1958 Gretsch 6120
    Buy a 59 White Falcon

    Buy my Mom a house.
    Buy us a house.

Try and do that thing people with money do, ya know, when they turn money into more money?
