Well if it has to be before the Beatles, although I love the Stray Cats I have to go with my favorite one.
    The Rock'n'Roll Trio.

    Sure thing.
But without "My Generation" or "I Can't Explain" all those gentlemen would still be outcasts in the streets of Forest Hills instead of "pick up their guitars and play". ;)

In that case, it has to be the Beatles.

I know that he wouldn't fit the rules, but for those of you that are disappointed that he can't be, Elvis shouldn't be considered anyhow. Elvis was a hyped up country singer.

If we can nominate bands that had only a couple or three great songs, I’d say Cream, The Champs, and The Surfaris.

No need to duck - they were a great band for a lot of years. I got to work with them and Paul was an awesome and cool dude. One of the tightest bands I ever heard live.

Who changed the face of music forever. The one who everyone from Robert Plant to John Lennon and beyond influenced. He brought "cool" into rock and roll.
I wouldn't expect anyone born in 1970 to understand the impact he had on artists like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin...:D
