A company over here is seriously trying to sell these to guitar- and bass-players.
Any other useless or crazy accessory for guitar out there?

Maybe useful for a guitar player who needs to stand in on bass for a week or something, otherwise wtf?

To keep your finger tips soft and supple, no calluses, is my guess.

Only use I could see if someone had a blister already and wanted to play without blood.

Maybe they’d sell like hot cakes if they glowed in the dark. Audiences would be mesmerized by lightning fast finger work.

I think a lot of young new players tap out in the beginning due to finger pain. It could be a good learning tool to keep them interested enough to take the next step without them.

There once was a cliché about lead guitar players having bloody fingers out of feverish solos.

    Oh dear...

I can see where they would be helpful for someone just starting out who isn't good at dealing with pain. Just had this discussion with the nephews around Christmas, both started playing recently.

I remember some years ago someone here playing his Gretsch till his finger bled. I think he was in Australia or New Zeland or Tasmania, I don't remember just down in that neck of the woods.

What's this? Nobody around here practices "safe chording"? What do you people think this is... The 1970's?

    :D:D:p

Or... You can go straight from a gig to sorting your baseball card collection without stopping...

My buddy purchased a set of these. Useless !!! He could hardly finger arpeggios. Then 2 of them tore when he tried taking them off his fingers 1st time out.

I can see a use - many years ago I played a lot of blues type music with deep bends so much so that I had strung my strat with banjo strings for the high E and B and one night while doing a bend the string slipped, and like a cheese wire went under my nail and sliced down under the nail, with much pain. Have always kept my finger nails very short since.
