Congrats on the 4 yrs sobriety ! Buy something nice, you earned it.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks - one day at a time.
Mine was delivered earlier this week, hope to have some sound clips up tonight/tomorrow maybe
She's a beauty! So want one.
Nice! Love the Thrush decal! Looking forward to your feedback.
Check the Fred's Barcalounge section, i posted a thread there, The Rat Rod is Here!
I put a clip on there also
My friend decided to sell me her brand new unplayed white Rat Rod because she needs a much thinner guitar. It will be the perfect companion to my 5420!
I love the look and am a huge fan of black filtertrons so count me in. I'm watching my $$$ right now but wouldn't be surprised if I pulled the trigger on when when the fiscal time is right.
I think once we clear the Covid storm I will try to get one. Both my wife and I are working, I am working a fair amount of overtime as my company is taking orders for medical equipment faster than we can make the products. So we consider ourselves very lucky but I am not dropping cash on a guitar until I am sure our economy hasn't been destroyed.
Stay safe my friends!
Got my white Rat Rod from my friend a few days ago. Yes it is similar to my 5420 but at the same time it's its own instrument. Same pickups but more "attitude" for want of a better term. I think that is due to the body thickness and the flat finish not being as heavy as the gloss on the 5420. Just a guess. Very comfortable to play, sounds great and Cream City music did an awesome set up on it. It is the perfect foil to my 5420. Ultimately I think it will get T-Armonds so as to have two completely different voices on my two Gretsch guitars. The first mod will be the Compton bridge like I did to the 5420. Anyway, that's my story & I'm sticking to it!
That's just like Joe Strummer's tele!
I just ordered a Rat Rod from Cream City yesterday. Got a good deal on it and can't wait for my first Gretsch!
