That was the first thing which came to mind. I’m not working on a hangover, in fact I haven’t had any liquor in over a month (saves money, don’t you know) but working on a hangover came to mind. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had a true hangover. I felt a little toxic one morning after having had a rum and coke, but never anything worthy of being called a hangover. Alcohol has little effect on me, other than putting me to sleep.

I've had four full on, real live, no joke hangovers in my life. The last was on January 1, 1980.

Those four were rather more than enough to suit me.

The worst effect I ever had was when a friend made me a rum and coke and used, probably 3 to 4 times the correct amount of rum. The next morning I didn’t have a headache of anything, but I had a nasty taste in my mouth and felt sort of toxic.

Althea - need to learn Jerry's solos and fills as there is a lot of open space, then develop my own.
Lay, Lady, Lay - we play a funky porn version. Love it.
A couple of our own songs as well. I basically play them as nauseam and eventually, the melody reveals itself and I develop intros, solos and outros, as appropriate.

    A couple of things.
This is just a great song, and when you start to get into it a little bit you see it's practically a clinic on tasteful playing over chord tones and blending lead with rhythm. It's actually been a lot of fun to figure out:

Then there's this one. It took me a while to get the solo figured, now I'm trying to get it up to speed. I'm sort of hitting a plateau at about 80%, so there's still work to do:

That is a really wonderful bit of playing.

    Will do! Thank you.

I’d really like to learn that entire thing.

This is your fault!! I’m determined to get this right! Haha
    Thought i’d break out ‘Gertie’
Coming from a strictly rock/hendrix/Zep/floyd type of playing, this can only help improve my overall skills. Its so completely different from what I normally play, it’s great fun.

Before I bought the Gretsch, obviously :D

That was our wedding party, had such a great night..3 different bands, Jeff +Amy (my new favorites, who i’m playing with - and Terry from our band on harmonica) John Gardner on drums who was with various famous bands as a session drummer. Was with Taylor swift last time we spoke!
Ed Snodderly (who’s a grammy winner) and the lovely Lisa on fiddle.. and my own band.
Can’t remember a lot of it but I gather an amazing night had by all :) and my mum flew in from the UK which was ace.

i been playing my guitars trying to learn enough to convince the ol lady the money I spent was worthwhile. Having the time of my life, every small accomplishment has felt huge. When my fingers ain't sore, i am reading about guitars, or while working I keep an eye on this forum. If only I'd a started a long time ago.

Working on refreshing my bass playing and getting the callouses built back up. I was the git-fiddle player in my last band (that just broke up). Going to go play bass for another band.
