I'm in "Shadows" mode at the moment. Working on both "Foot Tapper" and an instrumental version of "The Young Ones." The Young Ones is about 99% finished. Foot tapper about 45%. The Shadows sound so good on a Gretsch!

Sounds a bit like my husband. He doesn't understand that you never quit practicing.

I'm working on the next bunch of mashups for our stupid band:

There She Goes (The La's) vs Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Elton & Kiki)
I Love Rock n Roll (Joan Jett) vs Baby One More Time (Britney)
Ace of Spades (Motorhead) vs Jolene (Dolly P)

Working on this one tonight (really bad compression/bit rot on this but it's the best I could find):

Reaally liking the sound of the Lee JM through the Bearfoot Candiru Fuzz into the OR50 and Thunderstar for it :D

  18. I'm trying "Apache" these days. Never had had the idea to try it before I had that Great Gretsch Sound at home, and that's real fun.
As usual, I have started playing from the memory I have of the song + playing a mix of the lead + rhythm to make more noise since I'm alone.
And when finally checking the video on the internet, I found out: I don't play in the right key, I play E minor/A then A minor/D and the other part in C ; I play too fast. Same as usual...
But I don't mind, that's too much fun.

  20. Added "Lonesome Town" today. The way the Cramps play it: slowed down, reasonable overdrive from the Amp Gain, heavy reverb and tremolo.
Actually, that works with lots of melodies with 1 minor chord. Also try such massacres of the Velvet Underground's "Who Loves The Sun?" and even Bob Dylan's "Is Your Love In Vain?". Pretty funny that way.
