I love pretty much every one of the 10 guitars that I own but if forced to keep only three here is my short list.

Getsch 2013 flat black Setzer Hot Rod
    Fender CS '69 relic Stratocaster
    Supro Martinique Deluxe resoglass reissue

My Tele and my white Gretsch G5124 would be high on the list also.

Well, I only own four guitars, but:

    1) Gretsch G5620T: boasting a metric ton of style and tone, and weighing nearly as much

    2) Depending on the day, my #2 pick varies between my Hagstrom Super Swede Tremar (sounds and looks amazing) and my PRS SE 245 (the most comfortable neck I've ever played)

    3) Furch (Stonebridge) D20CM: no frills, no flash, just rich and velvety acoustic tone. I bought it on vacation in Prague, not far from where it was made. I don't usually buy souvenirs when I travel but I sure made an exception here.

You have to pick three. No waffling and adding others. Which are the three?

    #1 Martin 000-18Ge 1937 Sunburst
    #2 Gretsch Broadway Jade Penguin
#3 One of my two Strats. In the end I would pull the pups from the aerodyne and load them in the 60th Anniversary Blizzard Pearl MIM Strat because it was given to me by my wife and son right after we adopted him, for fathers day. But I like the Aerodyne body better sentimentality takes over and it still sounds just as good.

Gibson Custom Shop Wildwood Spec Featherweight R4

Although lately I've playing a newly aquired G&L Doheny with an Empress body that is amazing and is becoming a go to guitar for me!

    Sorry I can't help it....
    Honorable mentions!

Fender custom shop 64 closet classic Jazzmaster
Fender American Standard Strat with a single TV Jones Classic in the bridge position

What kind of a lawyer would I be if I didn't find a way around the rules? ;)

If I'm forced to choose, I might pick the Hagstrom for #2. Although its neck is less comfortable for me, it's an objectively amazing guitar.

If I could actually answer this, it would be an admission that I could live with only 3 guitars. That ain't going to happen........

Yeah, this just ain't happenin'. Thing is, my favorites vary constantly. I could name maybe 5, and yet several not named would be sorely missed.

I will list some of my favorites though.
My RHH 6120 is possibly the finest guitar I own. But I also love my 6129 Silver Sparkle Jet. And my 6118T Anniversary.

Also love my Martin J40M Bk. And my 1935 National Duolian. And both of my Les Paul Classics. And the Teles. Then there are the Strats... I am sure I could do with less Strats (biggest part of the collection) but which ones? Many are special for their own attributes. Different necks, pickups, even finshes.

    3? Nope. Not gonna happen.

I can't do 3 either... I could do my favorite 3 by brand, or by type of guitar, or genre/style of play fairly easily, but I don't think I'm in a spot where I could pick 3 total.

sometimes tuff choices have to be made. I could go right down to one if I had to although it would be a little depressing to do. I have noticed as I age possessions become less important, it may not be an age thing but I can’t quantify it any other way at the moment. And I’m not that old yet! At least I don’t consider early 50s old.

I do have three favorites, but I would not choose to live with only three. My three favorites are:
    Gretsch G5420 Red Sparkle
Squire Affinity completely rebuilt with all new hardware and electronics
Custom built Ash Tele by me
